OUR STAFF
I started dancing more than 20 years ago, although previously, both music and movement had been part of my life. My specialty is the New York school of Salsa, that is, the Mambo, the Pachanga, the Cha-Cha-Cha, the Rumba and the Boogaloo. Although as a dance enthusiast I try to learn as much as I can about different dances whenever I have the chance.
I am currently living in Mallorca and together with Mariana Lladó we teach all over the island with our itinerant dance school Del Caribe a New York. You can also find us at local, national and international events, and of course also online!
I have three secrets for you to become a great dancer, but they have to stay between us. 😉 The first is practice, the second is practice, and the third... more practice! Don't tell anyone!
I love absolutely everything about Viva Mallorca and enjoy welcoming all the lovely faces to my island each year.
Since I was a child I always liked to dance and when I reached adolescence my love for Caribbean rhythms was awakened! For many years, my experience and contact with dance was on a social and cultural level, sharing with my environment, until I had the opportunity about 15 years ago to start my academic training.
During these years I have been taking classes in different dance disciplines and styles, but with my main objective in what has always been my passion: Salsa, Merengue and especially Bachata, focusing especially on modern and traditional styles.
I am based in Mallorca, where together with Daniel Shial we have our dance school Del Caribe a New York and with which we teach Afro-Caribbean rhythms classes throughout the Island. But if you want to enjoy our classes and you are not In Mallorca, you can take online classes with us or find us at different events both locally and nationally.
My advice to anyone who wants to be a better dancer, whether social or professional, is to not work only on technical and physical knowledge and skills, but also to strive to always be a humble and respectful person, to maintain a good attitude, dedication and perseverance. That also fuels the interest in knowing the culture and history behind the rhythms performed.
And above all, dance is a form of personal expression, unique and authentic. Although it is good to have references, dance has to be a way to connect with oneself and be able to show our essence and personality, not that of others.
What I like most about Viva Mallorca is the human quality, the good atmosphere and the love we receive from our teammates and event attendees. It is very gratifying to be part of Viva Mallorca!
