OUR STAFF

I began my dance journey at the age of 10, starting with gymnastics and ballet/tap as extra-curricular activities in school, and from then on, I fell in love with dancing.

We are based in the heart of London and teach Salsa, Mambo, Pachanga, and Afro-Cuban styles. Our school, Esencia Libre Academy, is located in the Kings Cross area. We hold classes on Monday nights in Kings Cross and Thursday nights in the Old Street/Barbican area, where we focus on men and lady styling through a technical training course. You can find us on Instagram and Facebook at #esencialibreuk or @esencialibreuk. Kat and Eddie - Esencia Libre.

To become a better dancer and dance partner, consistency and patience are key. The journey of learning to dance is vast and beautiful, and with time, things will begin to click naturally. Embrace every moment and enjoy the process.

The thing I love most about Viva Mallorca is the relaxed holiday vibe and down to earth people. Unlike most salsa congresses, this festival has a unique way of refreshing your mind, allowing you to rest and recharge between all the dances.

I started dancing back in my home country, Venezuela, during my late high school years in the school’s marching band. I played the trumpet and got into music and dancing as we learned choreographies while mastering our instruments. I specialise in Salsa LA, Mambo, Pachanga, Cha-cha-cha, Boogaloo, and Afro-Cuban.

My tip tips for being a better dancer are to focus on getting good feedback, love the salsa music, and practice often. Embrace the rhythm and enjoy the journey!

The best thing about Viva Mallorca is Hmm, the food! 😋 And being able to jump straight into the sea from the rocks at the hotel. Bliss!
